The Reunion Review

When fans think of John Cena you think of multicolored T-shirts and BASEBALL caps with shorts but in the latest WWE Studios release The Reunion he changes his wardrobe and adds a cowboy hat and a duster. The last project written and directed and produced by former studio president Michael Pavone definitely shows patterns of other WWE related projects. The story follows three brothers Sam played by Cena, a hard-nosed cop who just became suspended after a public display of aggression, his brother Leo played by Ethan Embree who is a bail bondsman with the rather shady practices and their newly found brother Doug played by Boyd Halbrook after their father dies and the family comes together over the reading of the will. Soon it is found out that that each of the children gets $3 million each including the sister played by the awesomely hot Amy Smart as long as they work together for two years. So the brothers come to a consensus on helping Leo to collect a fee after they find out someone he had a bond out on was involved in kidnapping a prominent US businessman. So the boys decide to head on down to Mexico and hilarity ensues. Things become rather complicated may be too complicated and they run into a Spanish Señorita and decide to help free the businessman and collect the reward. Overall, while I think this film is in no way a great film it is much better than the last few projects that have come out recently. It seemed much more adult oriented with a lot more of use of the word shit I count about 17 uses in the film. Which is interesting that the brand that is focusing towards kids and they release a much more adult film with their hero. Honestly I think it is John Cena's best performance since the first Marine take that for what that means. The leads have an interesting chemistry it's not going to set the world fire but it works. So if you have an afternoon to kill and it's on Netflix I think watching wouldn't kill you.

The Runaways are FINALLY back in March, as they will resurface AVENGERS ACADEMY #27, after certain events in DAKEN: DARK WOLVERINE. The Scarlet Spider by Ryan Stegman

The Scarlet Spider is back, as January will see the launch of a new SCARLET SPIDER title, stemming off the events of SPIDER ISLAND. As to who will be the new hero, it hasn't been revealed, but they have said it is not Ben Reilly, the original Scarlet Spider, or a random person, but it is someone with a lot of history, directly or indirectly to Spider-Man and/or Peter Parker. The hero won't be based in New York, but rather Houston, Texas, and won't be really looking to be a hero, but will have to make a choice when danger is abound. Chris Yost and Ryan Steigman will be doing this book.

Black Bolt, Medusa, Crystal, Lockjaw, and rest of the Inhumans maybe coming to theaters, as an Inhumans movie is currently in development.
